For nearly 40 years our firm has been helping individuals and businesses “Live with Intention.” Based in charming Plant City, FL, we offer a full array of financial products and services to clients throughout the United States.

Our History

Sedita Kilton & Company was founded in October 1977 by Joe Sedita. According to Joe, that year was the worst time to start a new company.  He was a young CPA with no clients, little money saved, and a wife, Paula, who had just gone on maternity leave.  However, he persevered and grew the business into the well-respected accounting firm it is today.

Like so many small business owners, Joe was spending the majority of his time at the office.  One morning, after a short visit to his sons’ soccer games, Paula made a profound statement to him.  She said, “Someday, your boys are going to grow up and they’re not going to want to have anything to do with you because you didn’t have any time for them when they were growing up.” Joe learned an important lesson that day about living with intention.  He made it a point from then on to be present as a father.

In November 2005, Nate Kilton resigned from a Big 4 accounting firm to partner with Joe.  Living with intention, Nate wanted to shorten his commute so he could spend more time with his young family, to become more involved in his community, and to pursue being a business owner.  The partnership worked well because both Joe and Nate share a similar faith, family values, and community values.  Both believe in giving generously of their time, talents, and treasures.

Joe was an important mentor to Nate for nearly a decade before Nate purchased the remaining interest in the firm from Joe.
